Fort Pontchartrain a Wyndham Hotel

This was my first time in Detroit, and after a long trip getting here, I was exhausted, but Samantha J completely turned my night around. She welcomed me with such genuine warmth and positive energy that I instantly felt at ease, and she even made me laugh after a long day of travel. That kind of hospitality is rare and truly appreciated. On top of that, the rooms are large, spotless, and offer amazing views, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Between the beautiful accommodations and Samantha’s uplifting presence, this was an amazing first impression of Detroit. I’m so grateful for the experience.

The customer service was amazing from Lisa and Jonnesha! And I've only been here one day so far. Courteous and knowledgeable about the city. It truly felt like family. I appreciate you all for the great experience so far! 10 out of ten.

Very nice hotel in an amazingly beautiful location! The staff was friendly and helpful. The room had a gorgeous view! It was an ok sized room. I wish it had a microwave and the bathroom were a little bigger. But it was clean, smelled fresh and all was groovy! Side note... So... Just a little warning... There may be a large hold on a card when you check in and it may take longer than usual to have your money released back to your account. My hotel was booked with points and should have been free, but they put a $100 hold on my card. It's never taken this long before with other hotels, even other less expensive ones... You've been warned.

What a wonderful hotel! Beautiful view, clean and well appointed rooms. Delicious food and creative craft cocktails. The crown jewel of this beautiful hotel is the kind, friendly and thoughtful staff. Bobby and Jazz were AMAZING! Our new favorite destination hotel in Detroit! Thank you so much!

I was very pleased to stay in a hotel with crisp white sheets — that always makes a stay feel fresh and comfortable. Ms. Fee B. was extremely pleasant at check-in and happened to assist us again at checkout, which was a nice touch. The room itself was clean and comfortable. At check-in, there was a shortage of towels and washcloths. A housekeeper in the hallway kindly offered to have some placed in our room while we were out; however, that did not happen. The following day, the beds were made and the dirty towels were removed, but no clean towels were left. After calling the front desk, towels were delivered almost immediately, which I appreciated. The lemon and lime infused water in the lobby was a thoughtful and refreshing touch, and the complimentary bottled water in the room was also appreciated. However, on Saturday and Sunday, no water was offered. When I inquired, the hotel manager, Tasha, informed me that guests were not supposed to receive bottled water and that none would be provided because the hotel had reached maximum occupancy. I explained that many guests were in town for the same multi-day event and that the bottled water and lobby refreshment water had been a welcome convenience. Unfortunately, the conversation felt confrontational. For perspective, a gallon of water ordered through Uber Eats cost $2.99, compared to $4.00 for a 16 Oz bottle bottle at the hotel. Overall, while the room and some staff members were excellent, the handling of guest concerns could certainly be improved.

The hotel lobby was very clean, the people in it were all having a great time. The lobby was full of smiles, I noticed Theresa at the front desk work hard to make sure everyone got serviced accordingly in a very professional manner. The wait wasn't long. The rest of the staff at Pontchartrain were very helpful and friendly from valet to the restaurant. Infact! I've already booked my next stay at fort Pontchartrain. All in all- clean rooms. Great location. My wife and I Would recommend.

Absolutely top notch service. Andre and Courtney seen made our dinner experience over the top. Amazing cocktail service, wonderful table service the food was PERFECT! Would recommend to anyone who wants a 4 class dining experience in a relaxed beautiful environment! Thanks you guys! Made our trip!

The staff here is amazing! The first person we met was Jonnesha who upgraded our room to a lovely suite with a view of the river. Patrice in the Urban Cellar restaurant was a wonderful server. She is so nice and personable. Dalles in the breakfast restaurant was so sweet. Eugene, Mushi, and Moe were great valets. Last but not least us Fee B (Felicia) at the front desk who was fun, friendly and helpful. We had a great stay. Can't wait to come back next year.
